@wellesradio Correct. From the perspective of today's relatively cosy Britain (yes, even with the current recession), it's easy to be unaware of how unequal it's been in the past. The Tories are on the bandwagon now, but it's easy to be liberal once the left have already shown how to make it work. Labour need to get their act together, and ditch their New Labour associations, but it seems from the comments here that some people only have a political awareness that stretches back 13 years.

I saw this coming and emigrated to New Zealand.
This Government will make the poor poorer and the rich will be allowed to continue to pay minmal amounts of tax, using loopholes planted there for thier use by successive previous labour and tory governments.
Why are British governments of the past 30 years so keen to send the country back to the dark ages and bending over for the immigrants.
Here in NZ if you are an immigrant and you don't like things you're told to fuck off back home. simple

@wellesradio Life was much better 100 years ago.

@jph3660 So naive and yes, based on your opinion of "one of the people", a snob also.
-
@jph3660 ,couldn't have put it better myself

im willing to bet that this coalition fucks things more up than already is,,,
You don't exactly sound Non-U yourself, sweetheart. Anyway aren't Cameron's sort of people the ones who ran things when Britain actually mattered in the world? Empire, Great Power status, financial centre of the world, largest navy, industrial powerhouse.
Everyone goes on about how we should be led by "one of the people", but I don't like the thought of a fat, tatooed single mum as PM. Call me a snob.

haha brilliant! although, my hate for the tories (and the lib dems for that matter) could not be solved by labour. Theyre all as bad as each other.
