g-speak - minority report os demo

If youve been waiting for that Minority Report-style interface to really come to fruition, you can finally exhale. One of the science advisors from the Steven Spielberg film has created a real-world implementation of the computer systems seen in the film. Dubbed g-speak, the mind bending OS combines gestural i/o, recombinant networking, and real-world pixels, to deliver what the creators call the first major step in [a] computer interface since 1984.

The G-Speak system basically "consists of an off-the-shelf DLP projector and special gloves embedded with reflective beads."

f.ea.r 2 i would go spastic in a 3d realistic environment like that... imagine the whole playing field being completely interactive and in 13.3 audio... so much finite detail you feel like your really inside the game world.

@IntarwebUser The idea behind that particular scenario is that the interface is introducing to the user a LARGE amount of data all at once - something that our brains can process very quickly in a visual format. Each "Chinese character" represents quite simply "a piece of information". The implications of this are huge in terms of searching and sorting, the main benefit being speed, and also feeling more "natural" to use rather than a mouse or other input device.
