This is a one take movie of my Olympia SG 1 typewriter. When I say one take I mean one take, no editing. To answer your question, YES the camera fell off my leg and dropped to the floor and no I didnt edit it out. Its the Typosphere at its finest! Hope you enjoy me, not being able to say what I mean like focus instead of zoom and everything. Thanks for watching. My blog can be viewed at Olympiaman1010.blogspot.com

  • Gorgeous. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for it?

  • @meedily I paid 200 with 50 dollars shipping. I got it refurbished from Tom at Cambridge Typewriter in Boston and had it shipped to Houston. He does a great job with packing which is something that you have to watch out for (Especially with Ebay). It was something that I didn't mind paying a little extra on because unlike computers, you never need to upgrade. The SG is an amazing machine!

  • Hey man, could you tell me wher you found the ribbons? I'm looking forward to buy a typewriter and I wouldn't want to buy it and not being able to use it!!

  • @Doud92 You can ribbons a lot of places. But you don't know how good they will be. Once you know what kind you need, look up Cambridge Typewriter and get a ribbon from Tom. He is who I go to for all of my ribbons because they are so well soaked with ink. A nice ribbon will give you a good dark impression which is what you will want. Good luck with your search!!

  • I have two SG-3's that I love. So many young typists don't understand the differencee between an office manual and little portables. When light weight and small footprint aren't a great issue the designers had freedom to improve the machines. Beautiful machine you've got there!

  • This is a good review, and I personly think you sould do lots of review like this one more often!!!! LOVE it, you did good!

  • @Bikeman1010 Hey, could you tell me where you got the correcting tape?

  • @Bikeman1010 Thank you pal, the problem is I live in France and I doubt Tom will send me ribbons from Boston and if so it will cost me a lot of money. Anyway I found some universal ribbons on ebay. Do you know how long will a ribbon last, how many pages?

  • is it just me, or has it been a while since you posted a video! Good to see ya again man!
