Garrett McNamara breaks the world record for the largest wave ever surfed. The Guinness Book of World Records has confirmed the record saying it was officially 78 feet, setting the record for largest wave ever surfer by about 1 foot. McNamara, a 44-year-old Hawaii pro surfer caught the wave off the coast of Nazaré Portugal in November 2011.

    yea it is actually. they do the measuring. he did it this past year. bigger wave than this. either way anything over 20 is fucking nuts and getting up to 50+ is flat out insane. I say this as a person who has been surfing for 20 years. biggest ive been in is 12-15 feet.
