Xing Yi quan consists of mainly 17 boxing techniques with hundreds of variations which include, punches, kicks, elbows, headbutts, knees, takedowns, submissions, weapons training, qigong, and a whole plethra of others. Keeping an open mind to all styles, and looking at Xing Yi "principles" and stradegies from different angles has allowed me to translate this style on many levels. If this video intrests you, please check out my other works.

  • I love your moment, you seem to excel at the the stuff I haven't been shown. How much San Ti do you do? It can generate a lot of force when done with the internal element. I have been learning Xing Yi only 7 mouths or so and I am still only scratching the power of San Ti. One student who has been doing it for about 3 years now I used to train with in another style previously and in 3 years he has quadrupled his force minimum almost all we do is standing and application.

  • @Monkeylover1982andab Thank you so much for your kind words. Well, I have alot of health issues and old injuries from fighting. On a bad day...I hold santi for about 5-10 minutes on each side when my body feels crappy. On a good day, when I feel great, I do 20 minutes. Personally, I think Santi training longer than that is overrated. I work 40 hours a week, and I like to spend time doing self-defense. So, It just depends on what your goals are. But,santi is quite useful training tool for power

  • I've been wondering, is Xing Yi- quan a full-contact martial art in practice?

  • @Carmine0808 Depends on the person. I know people who practice taichi full-contact. I know some people who practice boxing and dont spar. Depends on the person

  • WOW I have this same form, with slight differences, I know It simply as Hsing yi. Shi er Xing, means 12 forms in chinese. makes sense. Shou yu liang?

  • @jeff61177 yep, shou-yu liang
