Gneisenau/Scharnhorst/Bismarck­/Tirpitz/Graf spee/Prinz Eugen/Deutschland/Scheer, all were beautiful ships.

If they were underarmoured why did it take so much to sink them, especially Scharnhost.

And don't forget that they were only battle cruisers.

And only the second class of capital ships the Germans built for WWII.

The H class was coming after Bismark and Tripitz!

Actually they had radar on their ships and Germany were leading in radar technology at the start of ww2, Graf spee used radar to hit the crusiers Ajax Achilles and the third one in the battle, Bismarck had radar as well but when they used the guns for the first time outside iceland the recoil damaged it and Prinz eugen took Bismarcks place since PE had radar but with smaller range.

Nein. Rodney und King George V hatten die Bismark, welche durch einen Torpedotreffer in die Ruderanlage nur noch beschränkt manövrierfähig war, bereits in Fetzen geschossen. Sie wäre nicht durchgekommen.

Die Bismark war ein gutes Schiff, wird jedoch durch den allzu schnellen Sieg über den Schlachtkreuzer HMS Hood etwas überbewertet. Auf der im Gegensatz zur Hood adäquat gepanzerten Prince of Wales richteten die Salven der Bismark vergleichsweise geringen Schaden an.

The Germans throughout the years have built beautiful ships, beautiful but dangerous to the enemy. In almost every way these ships were more advanced and overall built better then their counterparts in other navies. Very nice movie.

die bismark hat sich durch öffnen der seeventile und sprengsätze selbst versenkt ! hätten lindemann und lütjens das nicht angeordnet, wäre sie durch gekommen - schlepper und u-boote waren unterwegs. fehler war auch die prinz eugen nicht bei sich zu behalten !
