  • I'm interested in LES simulation and we are actually working on a high-speed pressure solver.. Is it possible to have a reference for the DNS data? Thank you very much

  • the DNS data are available through the following paper:

"Direct numerical simulations of turbulent flow through a stationary and rotating infinite serpentine passage",

Gregory M. Laskowski and Paul A. Durbin

Physics of Fluids, Vol. 19, 2007.

  • Sicne the flow is periodic in the streamwise dir, one can just initialize with laminar flow + perturbations and wait for it to transition. When the flow is fully turbulent, then start accumulating statistics. BC are: periodic in streamwise and spanwise, and no-slip in wall normal (5sec).

LES model used here (Regular Smagorinsky). Simulations with dynamic Smagorinsky have also been performed.

I can send you a recent paper I wrote about this work. What's your email??

  • I have a question - what are the initial and b.c.? Do you impose div free perturbations in boundary conditions?

What kind of subgrid model do you use here?

I made LES with Larey model and had very good results.
