knew when I heard him in 1966 playing guitar with the 'Revelles' in Chicago that this guy was special !! he riffed off the lick to 'Look Through Any Window' on a Rickenbacker and it was magic !! true guitar hero.

@markgamon Yes he was a good man, patient, caring, and sharing. I saw him one evening hand his beloved takamine to a idiot and let him play. He let took advice on guitar and listened patiently as the moron tried to tell him how to play !!he gave advice back and genuinely listened to the man, remaining polite and calm as he was patronized and treated contemptuously. He was a real inspiration and easily loved i am sure. R.I.P Isaac

From one Guillory to another, Go Brother Man! I enjoy every tone you slip through all that talent that's YOU! I think you look like my family for sure. I wish I could pick up my guitar and level out some of the hills and mountains like you... I played Flamenco for many years in the 60s and in the 70s. Your guitar is a great instrument! Your voice is enlivening, and calls from afar to join the festival, fly to the stars! Now you're in the place where you can see all of our dreams: Sing!

this is fucking astounding. Wish I'd known about him when he was gigging/before he died. Why do the great one's die young?

I remember walking into the back of the B stage tent at Cambridge Folk festival about 20 years ago... Just wandering by out of idle curiosity. Guillory came on and I didn't pick my jaw off the floor for 25 minutes. Saw him four or five times after that, and miss him still. The best and most exciting acoustic player I ever saw live (and that sweeping comment includes Nick Drake, John Martyn, Richard Thompson and Martin Simpson).
