The Republicans, conservative Blue Dog Democrats and "Health insurance lobbyist are trying every dirty trick in the book to defeat a public option . They have been going door to door and calling seniors perpetuating a lie Started by a far right pundit Betsy McCaughey (Same McCaughey that railed against Clinton plan in the early 90's) and repeated by opponents of a public option on the house floor (Like republican senator Virginia Foxx) . They are stating, " a provision in the health care bill is a secret plot to kill old people" , you heard right .If seniors weren't so vulnerable , this would be out right laughable .However they are vulnerable to this nonsense .People this is a complete lie .I posted a link on here you can read what the provision is which is a complete lie on what the republicans claim it is . The republicans like Glen Beck are also using out right lie bait and switch topics to drown out debates about health care , it's sickening .This video has some clips on the Blue Dog Democrats and their efforts along with republicans and lobbyist to derail health care .Below are some links.....

Yes as long as it is not run like mandatory car insurance. when car insurance became mandatory in my state the legaslator screwed the deal up. Let me put to you this way, if you sell some thing that costs you a dollar to build and they pass a law that says you can only sell it for 95 cents you have to pass the cost on to some one else.

Well I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens with health care reform.
Do you think insurance companies should insure everyone even though they may have pre existing conditions?

That simply is not true. Government never comes in under budget. Obama is all about putting the shaft to private buisness. Their are lots of ways to lower costs and improve quality and acess. None involve growing government control, spending,or their employee base.

But you see, I did do my homework. Obama doesn't want a Canadian plan. He wants a free market plan with a public option to keep the private companies more honest in pricing. Right now, the private insurance companies are gauging the public and can discriminate with pre-existing conditions and denial of health care.

I know you have the internet, look it up for yourself! The government option is bad for every one! I lived in canada. healthcare was terrible! If I thought you and I would benifit from it I would be in your camp.

You don't know that. You are just listening to Fox.

"We are the last industrialized nation with no Public Health Plan". She says this like it it a bad thing! It is not, the world has always followed us and our ideals. We have been the leaders of the free world and now all at once the world knows better than us? Come on! They want Socialism, and it is proved over and over that socialism does not work! It is because we do things the right way and inspire "pursuit of happiness" that we are the leaders... don't be fooled by milk-sop socialism!

No a government option will kill private insurance. Think about what you wrote. The telephone monopoly was broken up and cost went down. Government option will start a new monopoly. The market must control costs. Now pass a law letting insurance companys to sell nation wide not just state to state would allow more competition! Government has no profit motive to improve anything.

We can do that and prices may come down, but the private insurance industries have the public hostage with high prices. A public option would help lower costs.
The telephone industry use to be high priced until it was broken up. The public option will help to regulate prices and get a better product out of them at the same time.
