  • The statues shown at the beginning and the frieze sculptures in the platforms area are actually replicas of the original Parthenon sculptures most of whom are kept in the British Museum.

The woman shown on a giant post in one platform is Melina Mercouri, Culture Minister in the 80's and 90's that asked for the return of these sculptures.

we should be lucky that you are no politician.. you would do even worse than the politicians nowadays

  • @jadaswarklar no jack ass ...the money could have been better spent.......like

    paying bills now unpaid.........

  • @jpandyaraja

it is just a metro u idiot

  • @ekkotyaiou Not just kept. Stolen from Thomas Bruce 200 years ago.

  • bankrupt and people dont even care to pay for the train fares!!! its free

  • all off course paid for by e.u......not bad for a bankrupt country.....

  • Well, in most metro stations in Athens centre except this one, a "classy" style was not intended; exhibits on display and protected by glass are archealogical findings discovered on the site during excavation stage! That's the main reason why Salonica's metro construction is taking too long: archaelogists are too busy with all the findings being discovered!
