One morning - about a week ago - my alarm clock went off. As usual, I turned it off and fell back to sleep. The app "Sleep Cycle" promises to help sleepyheads like me out of bed - on time! By analyzing deep-sleep and nearly awake-phases, the app wakes me up just when the time's right.
3:08 The only time it looked like that for me was when I miscounted benadryl.....

@YoLninYo This is just a theory.. but there's a setting in the app called 'delayed sleep tracking' and it just gives you a bit of time to place the phone after you've started the session. Too much noise at the start will cause a massive peak so everything picked up by the sensors after that will be barely noticeable in the graph. Kinda hard to explain.
Entering a deep sleep instantly is uncommon, but not impossible. You'd have to be veeerry tired. Or experimenting with 'polyphasic sleep'

3:08 No.. it's not the way it should be. During an 8 hour sleep, you're body should run about 5 sleep cycles. Each cycle containing the 4 progressive stages of sleep. Clear results should show the graph peaking about 5 times and all spaced about 90min from each other. Best time to wake is during these peaks. Happy sleepings!

why hasn't ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE, reviewing this stupid app figured out that it is saying you started off in deep sleep? Deep sleep? THINK ABOUT IT! (yes we understand you got to shill for apple and all that, but think about it... are you thinking?)
OKAY, HOW THE *#&$*& Does one start out in DEEP SLEEP? HOW? explain to me how the F do you start out in deep sleep? This app claims every night that you're starting out in deep sleep. and NO ONE seems to notice this ridiculous discrepancy!!! :-(

Cool. I been using it, feels a lot better to not wake up in a deep sleep phase but it still goes off then at times.
