Cool Jazz Nites visited the Lakeworth Boat and Ski Club in 1999 when I first heard of The Jazz Monsters (formerly Lakeworth Jazz Monsters). Chuck Compher is at the helm (with his trombone solo) as the band plays Count Basie's arrangement of April in Paris.
This popular song written by Vernon Duke and E. Y. Harburg in 1932 was the inspiration for the 1952 film starring Doris Day and Ray Bolger. Big Band sounds from "Dallas' Premiere Showcase for the Sounds of Cool Jazz"...Cool Jazz Nites!
I love this song, and I absolutely LOVED playing it at my high school. Like bigbird said, thanks for posting this, it's a good version. ^_^

Thanks for teaching us the gift of music Chuck Compher. Those were great times at North Oaks. Glad to see he is still performing!!
