Actually science does not say don't worry, what it does say is there is nothing we can do.
Although humans like to believe they are the cause and cure to everything we are not.
The media and governments find it easier to stroke our egos by saying we can prevent this rather than tell the truth and admit that we really are insignificant. After all who wants to hear they are nothing.

Well I can't speak for others but I certainly wouldn't deny that. In fact, I'm not sure if I accept every... tenet, if you will... of global warming, but I think it's incontrovertible that humans can irreparably affect their environment--just look at what DDT did in the 70s (for more information about that, I recommend reading the book Silent Spring by Rachel Carson).
