Queen - Catfight For the Rest (Dancer Demo)

The original demo of Dancer from Hot Space.

"The story behind this lost demo is that May brought the completed Dancer into the studio, where the band (particularly Taylor) was unsatisfied with the lyrics. Taylor had suggested using his own lyrics, and the demo was made. While in the midst of recording the vocals, Taylor decided it would be best to just use the original lyrics, as he felt his voice didn't fit the song. Taylor did, however, decide to use the drum track from the demo for the final song. Deacon's bass was replaced by May using an Oberheim OB-Xa synthesizer, and the recorded guitar part was cut." - queenzone.com

Notice the bass line was originally played by Deacon, and the only synth present is the throbbing pulse on which the song is built.
Also, the ending guitar solo starting at 3:17 uses the same technique later used on the solo from Headlong from Innuendo.

nice try - besides the garbage solo - which is definitely not Brian... John Deacon DOES NOT play that badly! - this guy is nowhere near the precision bassist Mr. Deacon made out to be throuhgout his career.
