@auggiedoggy People can eat raw eggs and fish if they choose, but of course there are increased risks with eating raw animal products. You can fashion a raw diet as it suits you, but many find it simply easier to stick with veganism as a raw fooder. There aren't hard and fast rules-just that it can't be cooked!

Why don't any of these raw fooders I see not include raw fish and/or eggs? Raw food doesn't exclude these foods. That's the only way I could see myself attempting a raw food diet. Also, how much food is passed through a food processor versus eating the food as is?

@bluesdog88 yeah kale grows here beautifully :) Google Eden Seeds - you can get great seeds from them. I recommend the Siberian and Red Russian Kale :)

So I decided to give this a go.. eating raw broccoli now and some apples and bananas.. paprika and garlic oh and some corn.. just wondering if its oki to mix fruits and vegetables or if I should eat them separate? Just hope I will be able to convert.. always wanted to be vegetarian, should I take it smooth and steady or go "cold turkey" stop with all meats instantly or should I easy the transitions? Any advise is appreciated. :)

Please take it smooth and slow :) It really is the only way to make long term lifestyle changes that will stick.
Fruit and vegetables are best eaten separate. Fruit first, then when you are hungry again vegetables.
What you need is 'greens'. I doubt you will be getting enough nutrition with the foods you listed. Try green smoothies made with lots of bananas and kale. There is lots info on green smoothies online :) Go slow - giving up meat and staying healthy is delicate to start with :)

hi, i would like to start a raw food diet too. what types of food did you start with? recipes?
joshrain1 2 years ago
I started with a lot of high fat raw foods which I wouldn't recommend now. I believe the 80/10/10 Diet by Douglas Graham is the ultimate diet for humans. You can google him or the diet and you'll find lots of info. I recommend buying the book if you're really serious. Easiest thing to do is start eating lots of fruit :)
