Muslit: The slow vibrato I can see as an interpretation, This is Brahms you can use a lot of different vibratos not just fast! The accents in the fortes not sure but they might want to mark it like that I like it anyway!

@muslit And also the intonation is not so so so good... Cello in particular! But what a wonderfull viola!!!!!!!!!!! I love you, Monika!!!

Where's the long line? Very choppy sounding. In forte sections there are accents on every bow change. Vibratos slow. I've heard much better.

this is spectacular playing - I saw these folks live in Munich along with the Ebene quartet doing this same piece and it was just as good. Thanks for posting this!

This quintet is amazingly true to pitch, the piece tastefully rendered in terms of dynamics, meter and phrasing. Some of the very finest ensemble playing in the world. I would wear out a recording of this and fully intend to purchase one. I also highly recommend the Tokyo's version of the Late Quartets of Beethoven, though the personnel is slightly different.
This isnt the first viola quintet. This the second in G. The first quintet doesn't with the cello solo...and isn't played as much. It is played quite well though. (-:
