@Pilotsofer It's obvious to me that one of these two statements must be true: you have never been near a New York Steinway, or you have never tried an Italian Fazioli piano.

@OneGreatPiano yes sound and touch are very important. and there is no 'rough unfinished' finish on the piano. a steinway is a real piano

@Pilotsofer For me, it's the sound and the touch that are most important... But I'm surprised that someone who mentions the 'style' of the piano actually prefers the rough and unfinished century-old 'traditional' look of the Steinway to the beauty of the high-polished Fazioli. I suppose you don't like the Hamburg Steinways either then?

@OneGreatPiano very true. i believe both are great well made pianos. if i had to choose another piano besides steinway it would definatley be fazioli. i personaly just like the traditional/classical style of steinway. fazioli makes a nice style as well but it looks more modern(which is nice). i personaly like the traditional look of it.

@Pilotsofer Yes! ...and probably the same percentage of people believe that Rolex makes the best watches, and Mercedes makes the best cars. Those people have probably never heard of a Patek Philippe or a Maybach. The Fazioli piano, like those watches and cars are for true connoisseurs. It's not about the quantity of people choosing it, it's about the quality.

@OneGreatPiano hey. 95% of concert pianist use the steinway...

@KV467 Thank you very much!!

@KV467 Yes, you're right - that's the pronunciation in America, but the Italian way (which Mr. Fazioli favours) actually sounds like there is a 'T' in there.

@Jonathontheone: The only people that say that are people that have never played a Fazioli. I used to say the same thing that you just did - - - until I played a Fazioli. I have received more Steinways as trade-ins against Fazioli's than any other piano, and people are willing to pay considerably more for the Fazioli - - - would this be the case if the Steinway was truly the 'number one'?
