Link's David Michaelis outlines the reasons why the release of the Goldstone Report, critical of Israel's actions during the 2008-2009 Gaza War, was such a turning point for Western and progressive attitudes towards Israel. Author Joel Schalit believes that the word "apartheid" does not have the complexity to describe the full nature of Israel's occupation and discriminatory practices. He also points out the American culpability for the crisis happening today in the Middle East. Link's Jamal Dajani offers a personal account of discrimination against Arabs in Israel, and argues that one must look beyond the theoretical semantics and see the reality of Israel's apartheid.
