Just a shortish video where we mention some phrases that should never, ever be included in those books designed to teach children the alphabet. And hopefully this can in some way indicate just how wacky the English language can be sometimes.

We hope it's obvious, but, err, every word begins with a silent letter. Hence why they should never be used in etc. etc.

For such a short video, the editing was quite a pain, and can best be described as MURDEROUS.

  • good effort for an Englishman =]

  • If every word in the alphabet book started phonetically then it could lead a child into the false assumption that that's how things work!

  • Lol! Yes, you're right, the English language is extremely irregular with it's spelling.

  • @Elelki i really want to say ;and also for your mum' but that would be mean
