  • Check the video of "Gumdo Kumdo Propaganda".

It will help you, I think...

BTW, the forerunner of Japanese Kendo was Kenjutsu.

And Kenjutsu was sponsored by Shinto.

The manner of bowing to an adversary really represents the spirit of Shintoism.

And Bushidō was a lot influenced by Shintoism.

  • the entire art of using the sword actually originates from china. the quing dynasty then tought korea, then it went from korea to japan.therefore. japanese swordarts originate from korean hwarang and samurangs, but the art actual art of kendo was shaped by the japanese. this is why korea also made kumdo, because it is essentially korean culture

  • I am Korean-White, and had a friend that did Kumdo. I always thought it was Kendo, and he'd explain Korea invented Kumdo, and Japan received it from ancient Asia when people migrated to the islands of Japan. ...Can anyone help me with this? I'm confused as the differences of Kendo/Kumdo.
