  • These are some of the most beautiful bells in the world! They sound lovely!

  • @simonbellringer There are many people out there in the real world who think these bells are good, too...

  • @timmeh1507 Quite decent? I have heard them in the flesh many a time, and love these bells to bits - so characterful!!

When I used to go to London for a weekend, we often stayed in a Youth Hostel literally a minute's walk from the Cathedral... it's the old Boy's Choir School!!! Magnificent building, and you can hear the clock very clearly in the rooms... quite magnificent!!

  • @irkibby FINALLY - someone agrees with me that these arent so bad after all!! Thank you!!

You may have noticed that hearing a decent recording of Liverpool's cathedral changed my mind somewhat about them, particularly that tenor :)

  • Well I changed my mind about these bells lthe Sunday before last when I heard them again in the flesh. What a sound, they are just what are needed in the centre of London, a strident, hard sound to shout at the din.

  • I been up to see these bells before, they are great to watch these bells ring. I stayed up there until they finished doing a Service ring on the Tenor. I came to St Pauls with another person who rang here.

    I like the bells here

  • Lucky person; Id love to come up, see the bells and ring here!! Love the way the tenor dwarves the treble!!

  • @TheBellsandwhistles yes, it's barely noticeable here. This is the best recording of them I've heard and makes me rather more charitable towards these bells than I was!

  • @timmeh1507

the double ding is only noticable when you are right up close. You don't hear it outside. And the bouncy clapper is a good thing (I think) as it allows the bell to hum more freely.

  • @KDowner94 there is a noticeable double ding!
