The Copper Mine to Cape Trail is an outstanding new trail that offers incredible vistas of bays, mountains and islands. It is located near York Harbour in the Bay of Islands in Western Newfoundland. It is a joint project
of the International Appalachian Trail in NL ( IATNL) and the Outer Bay of Islands Enhancement Committee. The trail is also an access trail for the IATNL's Blow-Me-Down Mountain Trail from Serpentine Valley to Frenchman's
Cove. Hiker Keith Nicol has explored much of Western Newfoundland on foot and ranks this as the best mountain hike on the Island. See http://www2.swgc.mun.ca/~knicol/NLhiking.htm for more hiking info.
