of course it was a massive crime. as were the sanctions the un imposed that killed 500,000 iraqi children in the 90s and which severely degraded iraq's infrastructure.
since the war began, over 1/6 of the iraqi population is now displaced. likely 100,000 iraqi civilians have died. how is this not criminal? can you plausibly blame the majority of it on the insurgency? do you think the people of iraq (whose opinions should be the most important) attribute it all to the insurgency? they do not.

Yet Saddam was able to build many Palaces and other personal comforts.

Yes because the insurgency is not one big group but many that attack us and each other in attempt get control since Saddam is gone.

The people of Iraq just want to live normal lives, something we have been working on for awhile now. Also we are the ones that try to prevent civilian deaths and property damage. Something that these groups seem to go out of their way to do.

Yet we get blamed for their action. Why?

Why shouldn't you get blamed? I'm not even saying that civilians are intentionally targeted, necessarily. I don't have enough proof of that, though I can't disprove it. But either way, a lot of civilians have died because orders were followed. You are in large part to blame. Civilians whose infrastructure and homes are being bombed (as happens inevitably) don't use nice, clean words like "collateral damage. It's not just a minor inconvenience for them. 4 MILLION REFUGEES. Shall I say it again?

Once again this s a fact of war that cannot be avoided despite the best of efforts. Nor do I try to down play their problems, but I do not see how that this is a situation waiting to happen. The invasion only caused it to happen before Saddam died rather then after.

I mean look at Yugoslavia and how it fell apart after Tito died?

i can pretty much disprove your argument about the care the us military takes with diminishing civilian casualties by almost any account of what happened in the 2004siege on Fallujah. not only was white phosphorous used against humans, but all men of military age were kept within the city while it was being assaulted. i'd link to articles, but i can't in youtube comments.

We told everyone to leave that there was going to be a battle there. WP is use for illumination rounds and also the WP attacks were claimed on US force in Afghanistan where later found from insurgent attacks.

You can send me a message that allows web links.

Except our troops are trying to stop those that are attacking civilian targets. That is one of the reasons that I went over there myself.

I joined too for similar reasons, wanting to contribute something to my country. It took me decades before I realized that all I was really doing was helping some rich guys get richer. Oil, drug and weapon companies are making record profits while middle America loses its jobs and homes. BTW, I didn't vote for Obama, actually worked against Hillary, in my own miniscule way.

I understand that there will always be corruption, but it is for the person to the left and right that is more often then not the reason. Because in most cases those are the people that honestly care about each other when the times get tough.

I did not vote at all, I felt that I was doing more good on a average day in Iraq then I ever would by a 100 years of voting. You know who is helping against a promise form someone else.
