  • Macbooks cost way too much for someone who just wants a computer that does the basic's.

    Plus most people know how to use pc's better than macbooks these days.

  • yeah

    I recently got two 1GB ram sticks and it runs so much better!

    Only draw back is that the graphics card sucks.

    I could play alot of games if it wasn't for my graphics card!

    But I'm gonna see if i can install a new one later.

  • I have one from 2007, had 512MB RAM so I had to get 2x1GB sticks of ram so that Vista ran well (it has dual-channel support) It's quite good for a cheap laptop, but if you think you can game on it you're quite naive. Laptop gfx cards are soldered onto the motherboard, can't replace them, may be a few where you can but you know those are a hell of lot more expensive.

    The Bluetooth switch is a lie LOL Really it's there but there's no module inside, they false advertised it as having bluetooth;

  • I think if you buy one of those little bluetooth USB adapters the switch turns it on/off, YAY!

    It'll burn DVDs but the software for playing movies is buggy so you might want to use a diff player, there's lots of free ones. Also battery life sucks.

    All in all what do you expect for something this cheap? I got this for CAN$260 or something so can't say it's in any way a bad deal; someone asked if this is $500, fuck no don't pay that!

  • Most demanding games I've got to run are HL2 demo; yea I was surprised too it's technically playable and I got thru the whole demo but framerate slowed down horribly outdoors. It also runs Portal but I don't recommend it for any of these games ofc. Older stuff is fine like D2, WarIII, HW2, 2D RTS, HL and expansions, old FPS,Bridge Commander etc.

    I'm thinking of upgrading HDD but I don't think it'll take a 250GB drive :/

  • this laptop is cool-beanz Im using to type this very comment.

  • Good memories with this computer. Lasted me a bout 3 years until it broke down. I now have a desktop.

  • ..yea-I'm the same Acer now-and I sure wish I could play TF2...is the graphics card changable?

  • It has the bluetooth switch because its a shell for the model. If it's not listed as having it in the description or sticker on your laptop, you don't have it.

  • got the smae one need help with the bluetooth

  • hey man i found i brand new acer Aspire 5101awlmi for £110 eat that sukker
