My weekly podcast, Carpool, is now appearing on traditional TV. This should explain what's been going on.

  • Not the biggest surprise, saw that one coming the moment you hinted you had a momentous announcement to make. I have to say I didn't twig it would be Dave, but it does make perfect sense. You and Top Gear repeated in an endless loop, that's kharma at work. Congrats in order, but also a bit of a slap in the face from the 'new media' pioneer, off to 'proper telly' at high speed.

  • @axeman3d I take your point about the new media pioneer slap in the face. I am still 100% committed to using new media and have to remain open to all prospects/offers of how to fund such ventures. Believe me I have thought long and hard about this, but for the time being, the compromise of making the show for traditional broadcast, which in turn funds the online project looks like the best option. The profound hope is that the content won't change, it'll still be Carpool

  • Yeah thanks Rob, was an innovative idea, and lord knows TV has few of those so I wish u success with the move to television.

Dont think it makes any difference for me personally because Im Australian therefore cant get Dave so Ill continue watching whiechever ones peak my interest on here. Good luck

  • did you ever get to monetize it?

  • BL, in my opinion you have transcended (unbelievably) the EPICnuss of your televisual work and I have been around and an admirer since the very biginning. Excellent work sir! Much luv (in the Jesus way, with no religous context what so ever).

  • congrats rob thats awesome news i'll need to let my folks know as i'm sure they would love carpool. i am unfortunately one of those people that need to catch up (sorry) but i will. also totally agree dave is a great channel that shows so many of my favourite shows. i'm away to watch the carpool episodes i've missed lol.

  • Wow, looks great.

  • It's a packet-switching network. The ones and zeroes are packeted up and sent as electro-magnetic pulses which are routed around "gateways". At each "hop" the packets are directed generally toward the correct location (domain). This generalisation becomes more specific the closer it gets. Much like post office sorting depots, a depot in USA gets a letter for Ipswich (UK) and sends it to England. It arrives in London where it is sent more specifically to Suffolk. Maybe it's a rhetorical question?

  • U should try and see if a TV network in the states will brodcast it as well......

  • I've heard that in the next series, it will feature, amongst others, Adam Savage and Grant Imahara. Does any one know if this is true, and who the others guests are?

  • Dave isn't a channel, It's a small, off-duty Czechoslovakian traffic warden!

  • Top man, top idea....well done.
