  • I remember reading a liner note review of this song on a Miles Prestige compllation

album in the 60's,and it stated that critic Leonard Feather played this record for

Charles Mingus in a blindfold test. Mingus thought Dave Schildkraut was Charlie Parker! What a compliment. While every alto player was trying to imitate Bird's

style,Schildkraut was playing Bird's essence on this tune. I don't believe he ever

was able to capture it again on record. But what a compliment Mingus paid him!

  • Dave Schildkraut's play sounds like early Cannonball Adderley too sometimes.

  • ah why only why do I have over a hundred miles davis records to choose from. Where do I start...

  • @mytube7167 way to spell enough correctly. :)

  • Slide Hampton kills this tune, as only he can.

  • how many times in a day can you listen to solar?

  • Very nice cord substition for How High The Moon

  • This album introduced me to the early Miles albums. I bought a cheap spanish pressing of the lp with a different cover. I was so amazed that i had to go back to the record store and spend a small fortune on Dig, Blue Haze and a compilation of even earlier stuff :D
