  • gotta love lewis. have fun readin that.

  • lol, yea, Lewis is thorough, but alot of info. thx

  • How many years are you going for in nursing?

  • i am graduating with my RN in three weeks (taking boards in January), and will get my BSN not long after. thx

  • Hi, I'm a nursing student in Florida and a lot of the classes I'm taking right now seem to be useless for actually NURSING and I was talking to a friend of mine who just went through EMT school and training and she told me that if I were to become an RN through EMT that it would take about 2 years and 4 months to complete. She went on to tell me that it's a lot of hands on experience with the program and it's less READING and more DOING. I'm still debating...but maybe you could look into it?

  • FairyDust...maybe i could look into it ? how bout you look into it...thats part of being a good nurse...reading alot of the latest research and getting the info you need to make the right decisions for your patients and for yourself. Good luck

  • @sclyons34 Hey thank you so much that would be great!

  • "you can kill someone easily" lol...wow huge reading materials...good luck :)

  • It makes me glad to see some older adults near or over the age of 30 persuing a degree. I am aged 31 and will be applying to get into a nursing program. Howliboy1 i see you posted this tape a little over 2 years ago. Have you finished school? How do you feel about working out there as a nurse Now???

  • @Imawesome2031 Well- I'm only a student at this point. But, in my clinical rotations I have never felt discriminated against. I have had a female pt. refuse my assistance with a bed bath- but I was able to care for her in all other aspects. One of my female students needed me to assist with a male pt. who refused her to give him a bed bath- so I've seen it go both ways. I've found as long as you keep a professional attitude, things go relatively smoothly!

  • @sclyons34

What is it like being a male nurse? Do you guys get discriminated? I'm looking into nursing because of their good pay, good opportunities and benefits and job security, but I'm not so sure bout it because of all the crap male nurses go through.

  • @howliboy1 lol!

  • @15KJO Hey- I'm a male and am in a ADN Nursing Program to become an RN (just started my first vlog). What worries you about being a male in nursing? THe fact that there are far more women? stereotypes? Personally Ive never felt out of place or unwelcome. Id be happy to answer questions as I'm just starting out in the program. Good luck!

  • I saw this video was posted on a while ago. ive seen your nursing videos im 15 and a freshman in highschool from south dakota. i was wondering how you like being an RN im a little worried about the MAN nurse thing and how people take it. i have been thought becoming an RN after i became a CNA. Do you like being an RN? my cousin is going through her first year in nursing school to become an RN but SHE isnt the one i think i should hear from i would like to hear it from a guys perspective. thx

  • My advice is just focus on what's specified in the syllabus and in the lectures. I never opened any of my CDs when I was in nursing school. Remember, you'll continue to learn when you go to the hospital. For now, it's just focusing on key things. Don't overwhelm yourself by thinking that you have to know everything in all your books right now. That's my advice and that's what has worked for me when I was in nursing school back in 2003.

  • I've found that saunders makes a pretty good nclex book. It has really helped me. I got over 1000 on my last hesi.
