  • Something I came up with in Jr. High: If she's tough enough to hit, she's tough enough to get hit.

Still its fucked up that women even want to fight men at all. Men don't want to fight women. Feminists and those who promote it have brainwashed women into competing with men and it's completely screwed things up for all of us.

  • Ancient Spartans aspired to many similar ideals. It led to a culture of constant and perpetual warfare.

  • @topperheartramada Ha! I always wanted to be him too!

"They douse everything in estrogen." Man, have you got that right.

  • @hermionethebrain get back in the kitchen

  • @Cap285 When I was a kid I wanted to be Starbuck. Now they have some alpha-female playing the role, the kind that kicks men in the bollocks every once in a while. I guess this 'equality' thing means that women should be aggressive. that's about it. regarding tv shows, i have noticed that there is an increasing tendency to throw in characters and subplots designed to cater to female sensibilities. There is hardly a series left that has been spared. They douse everything in estrogen.

  • @stevinmarin is the difference between 'constant' and 'perpetual' big enough to warrant the use of both terms?

  • Have to agree with Hermonie here. While I think feminism has its problems (including a tendency to devolve into a kind of pseudo-religion), the only images of women in old sci-fi were highly sexualized and objectified versions of women - Uhura, the original Cassie, etc. That the new BSG tried to break with that is to its credit. Don't worry - mindless macho male flicks will never die, simply because too many women- including some feminists - ultimately embrace the bs protector male ideal.

  • I think of the real Starbuck, Dirk Benedict.

  • It was a pretty good series. Definitely had a lot of the feminist fantasy bullshit in which Starbuck could box men (lol). But I have known some hard-drinking, hard-fighting women who liked to get in bed as well. I really can't think of any women in this show who were feminine, which is odd. But at least it wasn't an affirmative action wash filled with tokens.

  • Really Pissed my Dad off. I just thought it was really obnoxious we both stopped watching.

  • The thing is, if everyone is male, there's not much room for sexual tension and relationship problems. Well, they can, but that's not going to go over well with the family coalition.

  • It's kind of garbage now... Frak you! if you haven't seen the godsdamn ending, don't take someones word for it. I'm 8 episodes away from the end and it still kicks ass so don't say shit like that.
