@Alittlebitevil It wasn't hunted because of that at all, next time you steal facts make sure they are right. It was put to extinction because of the Dingo and people labeling it as a chicken snatcher

I wish people wouldn't misrepresent their own knowledge. The 'TASMANIAN Tiger' was it's nickname. It's real name was the thylacine, named after it's canine head, but also it's pouch, which made it a marsupial. It is not a member of the canidae family. It was a prized hunting trophy due to its uniqueness and elusiveness, and they're looking to clone it and bring it back. For hunting.
Thus the film.
