a trebuchet I made as a final project for highschool.
I (Freek) did the calculations and design of the trebuchet,
starting with a small test and then medium sized prototype we tested the capabilities and the forces that would work on the trebuchet
after a final design was made we started construction.
and together with Gertjan who did research on other weapons of our essay we tested it...
at the school yard :)
(yes we actually got permission to wreck the playfield :D)
final specs
range about 60 meters,
up to 80 meters with a lot of extra weight (as can be seen in the end of the video)
that is with a one kilogram steel jeux de boules ball.
about 2 meter high frame (i am sorry i do not have the exact sizes anymore)
over 4 meters with the arm in upright position.
weight in the bucket, standard 150 kilo's final tests estemated weigt in the 300 kg range. (wet sand, with tiles for extra mass)
it was alot of fun to build.
and even more fun to use,
if you have your own trebuchet please post a videoresponse.
