  • I had Wilm's tumor too TWICE! Once at 9 months and then again at 3. Needless to say both my kidneys have been removed, except for 20% of my left one, and I recieved a kidney transplant at 18 years old. I'm 22 years old now and partying it up in Europe!! Woohoo! Live life <3

  • @mspepperr I am shocked that you had two bouts with Wilms tumor. Usually one gets it and continues treatment with chemo and or radiation for a period of time.. I am glad you are ok now. Live it up! Prof.Frank Friedman

  • I am currently 15 but I had Wilms Tumor when I was 8. I was stage 4 of 5 stages - 5 being incurable. I can tell you, IT SUCKS! I had it in my left kidney (now removed) but it had spread to my stomach, a little to my lungs I belive and I had a mass in my artery in my heart. I had gone through many months of chemo/radiation tharapy.. My simptoms where Stomach pains, high blood pressure, headaches, and finally I urinated straight blood with clots. Like I said, this cancer straight up SUCKS!

  • @braaup 15 years old. I am sorry for all the trouble you had. I hope you are feeling better. Wilms hits about 500+children every year. Many times we dont know why it happens. Thanks for your comment.

  • I was just diagnosed with Adult Wilms Tumor and I'm 24 years old.

  • @yurtoobe It is unususal that Wilms hits at age 24. If you want email me for further discussion. My prayers are with you. I hope you get the right treatment

  • Thanks Prof!

  • Frank, I wish I had seen this video back in 2003. I wondered why my daughter seemed a little "thick" around the middle, but she was ten years old and every one said it was just baby fat, but her legs and arms were thin. Long story short, by the time my girl was diagnosed she was a stage 3 Renal Cell Carcinoma/Wilm's Tumor. She was treated at the Children's Hospital in Philadelphia and is 19 and doing well today.

  • @outstounding

There was a mistake.. My diagnosis is Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor and I am now in remission.

Thank you for your kind words.
