Ms. Dunn, with great defference to your artistic accomplishments, I don't see a reason people couldn't sit in place and sing this score. And I understand that the piece lends itself to lots of inaction, a challenge for a direcor as well as actors. But I find the placing of two antagonists falling in love in an epic-scale world, even at this dramatic tempo to be a more successful experiment in music theater than, say, minimalism, which we now see at the Met. Thougfhts?

This opera is a better oratorio than opera; I wish he had fashioned this lovely music that way.
