Rizzutto was the perfect sports announcer. He was THE PIONEER. ALL of "sports radio" and "sports tv" industries owes its debts to the Scooter. He started the whole entertainment angle to broadcasting. Noone could come anywhere CLOSE to him.

Phil was a good ss and a very kind hearted person. He will be missed. He died at the age of 90. He lived a nice life.

hey white! NEXT TIME REMIND CORA TO SERVE MORE CANNOLIS WITH MY BRANDY WHEN I'M UP LATE ITEMIZING OUR TAXES. I MUST BE INEBRIATED I JUST SAW THAT BOSTON BUNCH BE THE ONLY TEAM IN BASEBALL POSTSEASON HISTORY TO OVERCOME A 3-0 DEFICIT, AND THEY BEAT MY BELOVED YANKEES IN ORDER TO MAKE HISTORY. I'M AFRAID MR. STEINBRENNER WILL BE SO UPSET HE'LL BE VERY MEAN TO THAT KID JETER, CLOSE YANKEE STADIUM FOR GOOD WITHIN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS AND MOVE TO ANOTHER PLACE. WHERE'S GEORGE COSTANZA WHEN WE NEED HIM

For some reason he was the greatest.
I watch Yankee games, and Michael Kay, Ken Singleton, and either Leiter, Cone, or O'Neill. While I have nothing against them, except for Kay, I would give anything to hear Bobby Murcer and Phil Rizzuto call Yankee games again.
