Two local educators were honored at the annual Michigan Charter Schools Conference in Detroit on Nov. 2 and 3. Joanna Jozwik, a teacher at Woodmont Academy in Southfield, was named Teacher of the Year. Adnan Aabed, a principal at the Oakland International Academy in Detroit, was named Administrator of the Year. Also, Arbor Academy in Battle Creek was honored with the School of Excellence award. The conference was held by the Michigan Association of Public School Academies.
