  • @sfkcbf Thanks. OK, no problem. So far I haven't been able to find his version of Ombra mai fu. If I do I'll let you know.

  • @serenaluce My apolgies: I had a momentary mind-glitch. I meant to say Paul's "Oh Lord, Who Mercies Numberless." I wish I could find a recording of Paul's early voice singing Ombra. If you ever do, please let me know.

  • @sfkcbf Can you give me a link please how I can find Ombra mai fu in Esswood's rendition which you say you uploaded on your channel? I can't find it. Thanks.

  • how old is this video?

(I think they both are great) :)

  • I hear a discernable difference between Paul's voice in the 1970s and his later recordings. Early on, he had a depth and also a tight vibrato that added richness to his sound, which contrasted with other countertenors. (Listen to "Ombra mai fu," or any of the Bach cantatas which I uploaded: sfkcbf). Later, his voice appears to have become more voci bianche and, in some ways, more similar to other countertenors.

  • Very nice Tim/Paul!!!
