The inaccuracies in this entire recounting of the raid are mind numbing.

Even though it was tactically pointless (the Japs called it the Doo-nothing raid) it still rattled their cage. The battle of Midway was their response to this, in an effort to draw out and destroy the remaining U.S. carriers. And that turned into an epic IJN fail.
