Before I get into talking about goals I want to thank each and every one of your for your continued support of this community. Over the last year it has grown so much and helped so many people become better photographers. It means so much to me that you guys come back day in and day out to learn, help and even teach me new things. I look forward to bigger and better things to come in 2012.

As we 2011 ends and 2012 begins I wanted to share with you my photographic goals for 2012. One of my major goals is to further my photographic education, continue to learn and expand my knowledge. This could be from books, videos or other photographers I work with.

If you could take a min to leave a comment about what some of your goals are for 2012 along with your fav video from 2011 that would be great.

  • Jared, just wanted to say thanks. I really enjoy watching your videos, especially the unbox and sniff tests :) seriously though, I've learnt so much and have been inspired me to take up photography again. Happy New Year and long live the Fro!

  • @Cratediggers thanks!!!! Keep shooting RAW

  • Hey jared, would you say you are becoming a photographer that uses flash more now? The reason I ask is you have a few videos now and I see the SB-900 etc in your equipment list? I always viewed you as 99% available light as your preferred way of shooting? What are your thoughts on this>? All the best for 2012.

  • @arubaforever No, im just looking to add it to what I am doing. I still shoot most of the time with available.

  • What are those lights in the back?

  • I "discovered" you on youtube in January of 2012 and I keep coming back almost everyday to your website to see if there's new stuff going on. I've learned a ton just by watching your videos. I was afraid of shooting RAW because I didn't understand it and nobody taugh it to me either. You introduced me to RAW and Adobe Lightroom. Nowadays I shoot nothing but RAW and I have to thank you for that. Keep the videos coming (no matter how long they are).

  • @KrazyFuckinCrackers1 dont forget the high quality lenses, which you need for the D800 :)

If you dont have any lenes, then pay two times more for lenses than for the body.

  • Okay so I know this is probably a little costly for you but maybe if you could do more with Canon? I'd be really happy if you did or like if you borrowed some equipment from Allens or something and did more hands-on reviews! Thanks!

  • Well i am trying to become a Freelance Photographer, mostly shooting Street, Event, and Online Business. My goals are to keep shooting for practice and post my pictures on youtube and deviantart for review so i can see what i need to work on and review, as well as what i am doing right. I also plan to start setting up my business so when i am ready, all i need to do is start it up. Lastly sometime near the end of the year or so i plan to move up from my P@S to a Rangefinder or Leica M9.

  • Is this the guy from LMFAO??

  • If I had not stumbled on one of your videos I would have never gotten so in to photography now I love it. Even if I don't have a dslr yet. What one should I get d400 when it comes out or d700 or d800 if it comes out soon

  • you totally published this on my birthday!!!! :) tho i had to work on my b-day which sucked! but hey, that's life

  • Learned a ton!!!!

  • I really LOVE the (non) 5 Min Portrait videos, specially when you bring some other professionals to us.

Those whole sessions watching pros (you included) taking pictures, seeing cool angles... just see how you pros do your job is awesome.

BUT, I don't like the non too structured way. I mean, I love seeing the 5 min off camera flash with Richie, but I also need a (real) 5 min video showing the camera's and flash's screen / controls (I've never used a flash [and to change that its my 2012 goal])

  • when you knock out the fro dummy lol
