Very beautiful playing. This is a traditional tune from the region of Voss and the fiddler would tune the fiddle to the bridle bells so that they ring a major triad. The hardanger fiddle is actually tuned A E A C# for this tune. There are also a score of versions of this tune - same general melody but with variation,

This tune is a traditional Norwegian fiddle tune called "Bjølleslåtten" - The Bell Tune. It mimics the tinkling of the bells on a horse taking a bride to her wedding. It's not wandering. It's going exactly where it needs to go. :-)



What kind of instrument is this??! Never heard something like that. Great!

@oeddi666 It is a hardanger fiddle ('hardingfele' in Norwegian).
