---THE FOLLOWING TEXT IS SIGNED ON VIDEO ---

Hi my name is Tracey Michol. I'm here to talk to you about the Texas House Bill (HB) 978. Your help is needed to move it to the House floor for a vote immediately. Texans with disabilities will not have the protections of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 2008 that President Bush signed into law, unless HB 978 is passed.

HB 978 is pending in the House Calendars Committee, which must vote to place the bill on the House Calendar so the bill can be voted on the House floor. We need your help to phone, fax and email the members of the House Calendars Committee in their Austin offices. We must contact them this week. This is urgent and necessary for the rights of disabled Texans to be protected in the workplace and under ADA 2008.

For your convenience, the Austin Office, email addresses and Austin office telephone numbers for the members of the House Calendars Committee can be found at: http://www.house.state.tx.us/committees/list81/050.htm. Just click on the picture of each member, and their contact information in Austin will appear.

It will also help to contact your State Representative. Please visit this link:
http://www.house.state.tx.us/resources/faq.htm#who_rep

Also for your convenience, a letter is included below with an important message for each Representative. Just add the Representatives name and include your information at the end. You may also add a personal experience if you would like.

Your vote does count. Your vote is your voice. Let it be heard. If you have any questions or comments, go to http://yourvotecountsp2.wordpress.com and click on the Home Page. We will reply as soon as possible. Below is the message to communicate to the Representatives serving on the Texas House Calendars Committee. Please forward this message to friends and family so that they can also contact the Representatives.

This letter provides text which you can copy and paste on fax, email, or letter and send to the Representatives on the House Calendars Committee.
---------------------COPY & PASTE -------------------

Dear Representative ____,

Please vote House Bill 978 out of the House Calendars Committee so it may be considered on the House floor.

Unfortunately, disabled Texans still experience discrimination on the job. HB 978 would bring the same protections in the workplace for the disabled under Texas law that President Bush signed into law on a federal level in 2008. HB 978 has bi-partisan support and was unanimously voted out of the House Business and Industry Committee.

Please vote to give disabled Texans the protections under Texas law that was signed into law by President Bush last year. Please vote HB 978 out of the House Calendars Committee onto the House floor for consideration.

Sincerely,

(Your Name)
(Your Address)
(Your Telephone number)

Then send it. Thank you.
