NBC's Today theme - aka "The Mission Part III (Scherzo for Today)"

This theme was used daily on "Today" in the late 1980s, but very few viewers were able to listen to it. It was used during local commercial breaks when the affiliate-by-affiliate weather forecast was played. WXIA-TV in Atlanta was in the first break; the scroll ended in the 8:30 a.m. half-hour with WHIZ-TV in Zanesville, Ohio. Few NBC affiliates broadcast these breaks because most sold advertising during those time slots. Occasionally other stations showed them, often after a technical problem.

The last few seconds of this theme were also used to end the show's final hour in the late 80s and through much of the 90s, I believe.

@Frederik5495 because this was last recorded in 1985, but the other themes have been re-recorded since then, but this one hasn't. The shorter Today show themes were re-recorded on their own, but not this whole track.
