  • i appreciate man for showing us how to install graphic card

can i install 4870 HD on my intel D945 motherboard????????

  • @009ijn That very long pci-e slot, if you have that slot on your motherboard, enough power from your power supply, and the pci-e 6 pin cables and the space in your case. Those are the 3 things you need to be able to use the 4870.

  • @ThisGuyJohn well i have the original psu 300 watts and i have the pci-e x16 slot with 2 gigs of ram ddr2 667mhz , pentium D 3.4.

can u plz search my board in google image search to see for your self that is intel D945GNT u can then analyse my board for ur self for HD4870.waiting for ur reply

  • @009ijn Alright, you have the right slot for it, but the power supply will not be able to run the 4870. You'll want a really good branded 550w like Corsair, or at least a 600w from most other companies to be able to run your 4870 and everything else in your pc properly. The P-D is gonna hold you a little back from getting full performance out of the 4870 though. You might wanna consider a whole new computer build with your 4870.

  • @ThisGuyJohn thanks man for ur supportive informatrion.but will this HD4870 doesnt help with my current pentium D (3.4 ghz 4MB cache) at all? and BTW i will upgrade the ram.

  • @009ijn It will definitely show in a lot of games, just don't expect to get 100% out of it until you upgrade the processor and ram to help out the GPU. My suggestion is an i3 or i5 CPU for cheap with a decent p55 motherboard, and 4GB of ddr3 RAM. Your overall feel of computing will feel much much faster.
