Our client wanted a series of three images to promote the new Shell Advance oil range. The requirement was to build the images in photo-real 3D, in order to build shots that would be virtually impossible to achieve photographically. We built an exact 3D replica of Moto GPs Casey Stoner and his Ducati bike, a typical downtown Bangkok Street, a moped mirror and a generic Moto GP race circuit. Every day we provided progress images and updates. We find this is a great way to work as it shows the client our daily progress and allows any changes to be rectified sooner rather than later. Our client also asked if we could create portrait versions of these executions. Rather than simply cropping the image to portrait, which loses a lot of information, we repositioned the 3D elements for the best portrait composition and then re-rendered the scene again.
