WARHOLIAN

Royal/T announces Warholian, an exhibit of photos, film, portraits and objects inspired by Andy Warhol, to open in the Culver City art space and cafe September 23, 2010 through January 2011.

Featuring a variety of recent Warhol-inspired pieces by artists such as Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst, the exhibit celebrates the great pop artist's deep influence on contemporary art. Pieces from paintings, sketches, and sculptures, to music, film, cartoons, and skateboards by contemporary artists who have continued Warhol's legacy will be highlighted.

Curated by Eric Shiner of the Andy Warhol Museum, the exhibit also features some of Warhol's most recognizable original artwork including "Electric Chair" (1971), "Dollar Sign" (1981) and many more from the Alan Finkelstein collection.

Royal/T will kick off the exhibit with a Factory-inspired opening extravaganza that promises to be the see and be seen event of the season on the evening of September 23, 2010. Throughout the exhibit, Royal/T will enhance the Warholian experience by offering some of Warhol's favorite food in an extended café menu and special Warhol-inspired merchandise in the gift shop.

Warholian is free and open to the public 10:00 AM -- 6:00 PM daily + until 10pm every Wednesday.
