The dying minutes of BBC2 Analogue including channel ident for nostalgia purposes.
Recorded using my HD camera since I don't own a VCR - apologies for focus and exposure - I should've taken it off auto.
There is a noticeable glitch about 10-20 seconds before the signal dies - presumably that's when the switch was thrown...
That little 'twitch' is them cutting power to the analogue transmitter. It then runs on backup batteries until they run out and the signal dies.
The batteries are only designed to keep the transmitter going for 30 seconds max in case of a power outage, while the National Grid reroutes power to the site.
