A rotifer of the order monogononta, this rotifer has a beautiful lorica shell in a triangular prism shape. In this video of it feeding among moss, it shows its swimming ability aswell.

  • Wow, the feeding behavior doesn't seem particularly different from that of my cats! The behavior of reaching out to grab food and then retracting back to feed must have a ridiculously long pedigree.

  • never seen one with shell and spurs :)
