Chicago is the most under surveillance city in the US. been like that for a while. those cameras are nothing new. there's also the red-light cameras, cameras on the buses, on all the 'L' stations and will be on all of the 'L's real soon. I'm used to it. I hate the ones with the flashing blue light, though.

The best and cheapest way to reduce crime is to let law-abiding citizens carry guns to defend themselves, as most states do. Cameras do nothing but invade your privacy.

ACLU is a part of the problem. A personal right should not trump the collective rights of others. If a person's privacy right is violated to save dozens of lives; it is honorable. If the privacy issue does not affect other it should be protected.
