Paul Weller (1958-) is a singer/songwriter/musician from Sheerwater, Surrey, England. Known as "The Modfather" to his fans, he was influenced by The Beatles, The Who and The Small Faces as well as American soul music in his youth. He was the leader of the punk rock group The Jam from 1976-1982. In 1983 he formed The Style Council, a new-wave/soul group. When The Style Council disbanded in 1989, he began a solo career that is still going today.
