Tuareg music and the camel course at sunset.
The best part of the festival was the Touaregs, hearing their music and meeting their culture. The desert is their home. The Malian and other West African music was fine, but I wish all this "World Music" would go away..I don't go to the Sahara to hear Eskimos (they were heat shocked btw and could barely perform), Austrians (he never knew whe to quit) or Swedes (to me, a Swede, they were embarassing but I heard they had belly ache).
Next time I will rather seek out a genuine all touareg desert festival, just like Essakane once started out...
