ipykipyk you write: "Too bad "Choices" didn't come out about 3 years earlier - or 15 years later so CCM radio could've gotten into it." I agree, but am not sure it would have mattered. One of the great scandals of the "Christian Rock" scene, imho, is the way it ignored AD and Gleason. Again, their music was as good as any rock stuff in any genre, and hardly anybody knew who they were. Shameful. So grateful to Kerry Livgren and co. for the brilliance of their product over the years!

I've done a little investigating, and apparently Gleason has done some more recent stuff. I haven't heard any of it, but from what I have read it is quite different from the late-80's rock vibe of COC. This makes sense, of course, since that was 20 years ago, but it still makes me a little leary - sometimes artists change when they shouldn't! Anyway, I've been planning on checking it out; you might want to do the same.

Couldn't agree with you more! I actually found 2 analog cassettes of "COC" in a used bookstore about 10 years ago. Sadly I wore them both out. Great writer and musician. Too bad "Choices" didn't come out about 3 years earlier - or 15 years later so CCM radio could've gotten into it.

Michael Gleason is a vocal revelation! His Children of Choices album is one of my favorite rock albums, Christian or otherwise. All of his stuff with AD is must have material. An astonishing voice and terrifically gifted musician.
