Back in the early 1990's I had acess to the Tioga Central when it was based out of Owego, NY. One of the engineers a good friend was able to mount different horns on their Alco RS-1's for the day. I used to bring up mine as well. A sample of this.

excuse the poor video quality this clip was made from my VHS video days.

  • The one spot @120 looks like the line they have now. Where did they run when they were in NY.

  • Really fond memories, too, the rare times I wasn't Trainman or in the gift shop. Was offered a cab ride during our honeymoon, but I think I opted to stay with the missus.

  • I know what you mean they sound great!

  • The RS-1 sounds good

  • nice video, great quality for such an old camera too

  • Sweet. Very good quality for early 90's VHS. Nice horns!

  • It sounds like an older cast Nathan P5, Amtrak used a newer cast P5A. So yes, you're right.

  • Some nice old footage Ed! The horns were great!

    Glenn.

  • As always, great job Ed.

  • awesome video 5*****
